Open the quickstart guide in the browser the first time a user opens the emulator
Add some persistent flags that are stored in the registry on windows, not in the config. These are just used to indicate whether one-time tasks have run, like showing the quickstart guide. On non-windows platforms a default value is returned that skips any of these tasks so they don't run every single time.
If the user opens a .iso file, show a warning telling them that we do not condone or support piracy. If the user closes the messagebox within two seconds set a sticky flag that will show them the warning every time instead. Otherwise the warning is never shown again. The Beep function is used to spook them a bit, to hopefully make them less likely to skip the message
If a user opens an archive file, which we do not support, explain to them that they're dumb.
Removed messages intended to "catch" pirates. If they're out there, we don't want to know about them. A huge chunk of the discourse on our discord is now about piracy. Hopefully these changes will deter them from coming to us for now, but some of these messages may backfire
- Changed name of config option to apply_title_update to better reflect what that option does
- Mount TU package to UPDATE: partition
- Simplified UserModule::title_id()
- Splitted loading module into two parts to allow applying TUs and custom patches
C++17ification!
- Filesystem interaction now uses std::filesystem::path.
- Usage of const char*, std::string have been changed to
std::string_view where appropriate.
- Usage of printf-style functions changed to use fmt.
Previously XexUnloadImage did not cleanup the image fully,
and if XexLoadImage was to be called again on the same module,
it was not initialized fully, leading to a crash when using it.
- Convert http to https, provide archive link when possible.
- Made CPU-JIT.png more readable on dark themes;
Added a white background so there isn't black text on a black
background.
Code is mainly just copy/pasted from kernel/util/xex2.cc, I've tried fixing it up to work better in a class, but there's probably some things I missed.
Also includes some minor improvements to the XEX loader, like being able to try both XEX keys (retail/devkit) automatically, and some fixes to how the base address is determined.
(Previously there was code that would get base address from optional header, code that'd get it from xex_security_info, code that'd use a stored base address value...
Now everything reads it from a single stored value instead, which is set either from the xex_security_info, or if it exists from the optional header instead.
Maybe this can help improve compatibility with any weird XEX's that don't have a base address optional header?)
Compressed XEX loader also has some extra checks to make sure the compressed data hash matches what's expected.
Might increase loading times by a fraction, but could save reports from people unknowingly using corrupt XEXs.
(still no checks for non-compressed data though, maybe need to compare data with xex_security_info->ImageHash?)
This is a regression in functionality and performance, but a much better
foundation for the future of the project (I think). It can run basic
apps under an SSA interpreter but doesn't support some of the features
required to do real 360 apps yet.
This should make it easier to find files and (in the future) split things
up into separate libraries.
It also changes around emulator initialization to make it a little more
difficult to do things out of order and a little more sensible as to when
real init work happens.
Also adding a skeleton audio system/driver and reworking CPU register
access to be more extensible.
